1. Oven size & capacity

2. How to choose oven fuel type

Size, design and cooking functions are all significant factors to consider when purchasing a kitchen oven. You will also need to decide whether you want a gas or electric oven.

Electric ovens

  • More prevalent than gas ovens.
  • Generally provide more consistent heat distribution, especially when equipped with a fan.
  • Require pre-heating, with contemporary innovation, this process has become faster.
  • Create drier air, which can help with crisping and browning.
  • Most models need to be hardwired by a trained electrician; some ovens will come with a plug and lead suited to a specific amp rating.

Gas Ovens

  • Initially cost more than electric ovens; but, due to energy efficiencies with gas cooking, they will cost less in the long run.
  • Cook with more moisture, which makes them suitable for cakes and roasts.
  • More accurate temperature control and faster heating than electric ones.
  • Generally include fewer parts than an electric oven, thus maintenance should be easier over time.
  • Can be powered by natural gas or an LPG bottle - model dependent

AirFry Ovens

When you want the latest in culinary technology, but don't have the space for a countertop airfryer, an airfry oven could be the solution. Now you can have it all in one appliance since you are now able to air fry in your oven, which means you can cook for the whole family, getting results similar to deep-frying while using less oil.

Ideal for:

  • Families
  • Apartment living

Capacity:

60 – 125L

With air, not oil

By using the circulation of hot air, air frying cooks the outside of your food first which creates a crispy outer layer and keeps the inside soft, similar to deep frying, but you are cooking with air, not oil.

Cook for the whole family

With a larger capacity space than a benchtop appliance, you are able to AirFry all in one hit, rather than cooking in batches ensuring no one goes hungry.

Oven FAQs

  • What is a fan forced oven?

A fan forced oven features a heating element along with a fan on the oven’s back wall. The electric element heats up and the fan circulates the warm air evenly across all level of the oven. The main advantage of a fan forced oven is the even temperature distribution, which allows multiple dishes to be cooked at the same time without the need to rotate.

  • How do you clean your oven?

Combine four parts of baking soda with one part of water and mix it together untila thick paste is formed. Then use a cooking spatula (or other similar utensil that helps spread the mixture) and spread the mixture on the dirtiest areas of your oven only and let it set for around thirty minutes. After that, use a grout sponge and soak it in pure vinegar and then just scrub vigorously. All of the dirt should come out effortlessly.
